Increase Your Banners' Effectiveness by Adding Creativity

There are banners I look forward to seeing on some sites. Do you have some too? Is it possible you are unaware of the company that owns it? Is it also more likely you'll click through? Are you very likely to tell your friends and family about them? However, it is becoming a lot more difficult to get something that is really so interesting but short as to capture the attention of the ever restless internet surfer. Here are tips to help increase your banner's effectiveness.
1) Let it be outrageous. If it looks like every other banner, then it would just be lost in the crowd. Think of something that is out of the usual but that compliments your message. Creativity is the key here. Give them something to talk about and they'll really talk about it.
2) Make sure it has just one huge benefit. Get the biggest benefit you intend to offer and let it be very clear. No, don't try to show all the benefits. One banner should concentrate on just one benefit. If you want to show another benefit, you need another banner on a different page.
3) Make sure it stands out from the surrounding graphics. It's a bad idea to make your banner blend into the surrounding graphics. Your message might NOT be noticed.
4) Make sure it is placed on a page that attracts laser targeted visitors. As much as lies in your power, place your banners on similarly themed pages. If your site is on wedding cakes, having your banners on a site that sells wedding gowns will help a lot.
Everyone who wants a wedding gown will also want a wedding cake. You're NOT competing with the wedding gown site rather you're adding value to it while improving the odds that your banners will be clicked. One reason why banners have been tagged ineffective is mainly because of wrong placement. Getting your banners on the right sites might be more difficult but it's certainly more fruitful.
